Job Posting: Summer Camp Meal Coordinator
The ACBDD is seeking candidates interested in working as Summer Camp Meal Coordinator during the ACBDD’s Ray’s Days! Summer Camp program, in coordination with the Ohio University Kids on Campus.
Dates of the program employment are June 8 – July 10 (closed June 19 and July 3 for holidays). The position’s hourly rate will be commensurate based upon experience.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
- Must be available to work the entire duration of camp, including Training Week (June 8-12 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Camp (June 15-July 10 from 7:45 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.).
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Successful applicants will be required to pass both state and federal background checks.
- Essential certifications, including ServSafe Food Handler or Manager certifi cation required prior to start of position.
- Experience working in a school kitchen or camp food service position preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children with and without disabilities is preferred.
NOTE: If currently employed by ACBDD, duties must not interfere with primary ACBDD job responsibilities (must be done outside of normal working hours)
Job Duties:
Summer Camp Meal Coordinator will perform a variety of program activities including:
- Plan and prepare breakfast and lunch for campers to be served at 8:30 and 11:30 each day of camp. Prepare sack lunches for field trips.
- Become familiar with the dietary restrictions of all campers.
- Responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen and food service areas.
- Safely manage the food inventory and ordering following the first in first out method to reduce waste.
- Support kitchen staff that may be working with you, and work closely with Lead Counselors and Counselors in providing meals for the campers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
