Job Posting: Lifeguard
The ACBDD is searching for 1-3 part-time lifeguards to cover pool activities at Beacon School.
This position is ideal for someone who wants to be a part of an agency committed to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
The position pays $12 hourly and comes with an excellent benefits package, including sick leave and participation in OH Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS). The schedule is Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. during the academic year, with opportunity for additional hours, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Lifeguard certification.
- Must be able to work in standing as well as sitting positions for four hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stretch, reach, bend over, push and pull loads. Demonstrate physical fitness.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety practices; ability to recognize threatening conditions and take appropriate actions.
Duties: - Provides for safety of swimmers by checking, watching and patrolling during swim periods; enforces rules and regulations regarding safe use of swimming facilities.
- Reports and/or corrects any unsafe conditions or actions.
- Assists swimmers in distress; administers any initial first aid/CPR as necessary.
