The ACBDD is searching for 1-3 part-time lifeguards to cover pool activities at Beacon School.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to be a part of an agency committed to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

The position pays $12 hourly and comes with an excellent benefits package, including sick leave and participation in OH Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS). The schedule is Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. during the academic year, with opportunity for additional hours, as needed.

Qualifications:

Lifeguard certification.
Must be able to work in standing as well as sitting positions for four hours at a time.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Must be able to stretch, reach, bend over, push and pull loads. Demonstrate physical fitness.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of safety practices; ability to recognize threatening conditions and take appropriate actions.
Duties:
Provides for safety of swimmers by checking, watching and patrolling during swim periods; enforces rules and regulations regarding safe use of swimming facilities.
Reports and/or corrects any unsafe conditions or actions.
Assists swimmers in distress; administers any initial first aid/CPR as necessary.
