Featuring—The ATCO Vocal Choir


The ATCO Vocal Choir had another successful holiday season! True ambassadors of the Athens County Board of DD; the choir spread holiday cheer to many people during the Christmas season. The members were also proud to sport their new vests that were certainly festive. As always, the choir not only showcases the ACBDD’s programs but also provides valuable inclusion in the community for the choir members.

The choir held performances at the Athens Public Library, Arts West, The Market on State Street Mall, Beacon School, ATCO, Echoing Meadows, the ACBDD Board Meeting, and the Ohio Association of County Board’s Winter Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

Under the direction of Stephanie Morris, (Board Certified Music Therapist and OU Graduate Assistant of Music Therapy) and assisted by OU Music Students Ruby Chen, Abby Gaylor, Elyse Roberts, and Luwen Zhang, the choir has been in existence since 2011. The choir currently has 18 members. This years officers are:

Equipment/Materials Committee: Stacy Poulton, Lee Collins, Derek McKee
Social Committee: Brian McCulloch, Irene Bailey, Carly Holland

Please take the opportunity to come out and support the choir. The choir has upcoming performances on Feb 19th at the 1st United Methodist Church in Athens and at the GLR conference in Columbus on April 6th.
