Disabilities Awareness Festival
Just a reminder that March is “Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month”. In honor of this, the Athens County Board of Developmental Disabilities is hosting its annual:
“Disabilities Awareness Festival”
At the Athens Community Center on
Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM
This event is free and open to the public! Our purpose is to promote the capabilities of individuals with disabilities in our community. This year’s theme is:
- We would like to extend to your organization or business an invitation to set up a table display or activity at this event or be part of the formal program presentation. We ask if you would like to present as part of the formal program that you keep your presentation to 5 minutes or less so that we can accommodate everyone in the time available.Some of the features of the evening will include:
- Musical performances by and for individuals with disabilities
- Self Advocacy Awards
- And much, much more!
We would like to have representatives from area schools, disability rights advocates, businesses, organizations that work with and assist individuals with disabilities, and any other groups or individuals that would like to share how they advocate for adults and/or children with disabilities in Southeast Ohio.
