Transportation-Facilities Assistant – Part-time

The ACBDD has an opening for a part-time Transportation-Facilities Assistant. This position comes with an excellent benefits package, including comprehensive health and life insurance, generous paid time off, and participation in OH Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS)

Wage: Minimum of $20 per hour, commensurate with qualifications
Benefits: OPERS participation, vacation, personal and sick leave.
Schedule: Academic year schedule (182 days), 25-40 hours per week, scheduled as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Qualifications:
• Must be 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED
• Must possess a valid Ohio Operators’ License with good driving record and a knowledge of driving rules & regulations, safety practices, and operation of a passenger vehicle.
• Must be able to successfully obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement and maintain First Aid & CPR certification
• Must demonstrate ability to use radio equipment along with ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide & read & write common vocabulary & maintain accurate reports
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks under the direction of other maintenance personnel
• Able to demonstrate basic maintenance skills
• Must be able to lift and move safely 75 lbs.
• Knowledge of custodial safety practices; skill in operation of cleaning equipment

Job Duties:
• Operates vehicles to transport individuals or products and supplies to and from programs, school, or various activities. Inspects, services and maintains vehicles. Prepares mileage, fuel, passenger and related reports.
• Performs custodial and grounds maintenance duties.
• Performs light maintenance and assists other maintenance personnel as needed.
• May ride in vehicles to supervise and monitor students as needed to ensure safe transport.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
