Job Posting: Transportation-Facilities Aide

The ACBDD has an opening for a Transportation-Facilities Aide. This position is located at 9033 Lavelle Road in Athens. The hourly pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid Ohio Operators’ License with good driving record and a knowledge of driving rules & regulations, safety practices, and operation of a passenger vehicle.
  • Must be able to lift and move 75-100 pounds.
  • Must demonstrate ability to use radio equip. along with ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide & read & write common vocabulary & maintain accurate reports.
  • Must have computer skills with ability to utilize a variety of software, including Microsoft Excel, to record, maintain and analyze data.
  • Ability to recognize unusual and threatening conditions, and take appropriate action; develop & maintain good rapport with consumers.
  • Knowledge of custodial safety practices. Skill in operation of cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks under the direction of other maintenance personnel.
  • Able to demonstrate basic maintenance skills.
  • Must successfully obtain ODE van and/or school bus certification and First Aid & CPR certification

Duties:
Purpose of the position is to fill-in as needed on a regular basis for bus and van drivers or custodians or other facilities maintenance and project needs.

  • Operates any vehicle to transport individuals and program-related supplies to and from programs or services for various activities.
  • Inspects, services & maintains vehicles; prepares mileage, fuel, passenger & related reports.
  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets, bus routes and affiliated records.
  • Communicates with various stakeholders.
  • Performs custodial and grounds maintenance and assists with ordering and receiving supplies;
  • Performs light maintenance and assists other maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Accompanies program vehicles to supervise behavior to support the safety of passengers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Posting Dates: June 11, 2024 – June 26, 2024.
