Beacon’s Young Adult Class Gives To Community!

The Young Adult Class planted a vegetable garden last year and were very successful! Their green thumbs produced 33 pounds of vegetables which were then donated to the Athens Community Food Initiatives Donation Station!! In 2012, the Donation Station distributed a total of 44,303 pounds of fresh local food to social service agencies and food pantries in Athens County. Thanks to our Young Adults for becoming involved in our community and helping those in need. What a great lesson to be learned! This month, the students and staff will begin planting cold weather seeds outside, to kick off their second gardening season!
