Beacon Pre-School

  • Pre-school is an integrated program serving children three and four years of age. Children in Athens and surrounding counties with identified developmental disabilities and typically developing peers are both enrolled in the program.
  • Each identified student enrolled has an individual education plan (IEP) designed to promote optimum growth in the areas of gross/fine motor skills, language, social, cognitive and self-help skills. Parent are invited, and encouraged, to participate in any and all activities. The open door policy is always in effect.
  • The preschool class creates and atmosphere to foster pre-academics, art, music and group activities to meet the individual educational goals and objectives of handicapped or delayed children. To enhance the performance, physical therapy and speech therapy techniques are integrated into the developmentally appropriate activities
