Job Posting: Camp Program Director

The ACBDD has an opening for a Camp Program Director. This temporary position pays a minimum of $22.50/hour, commensurate with experience. The schedule is M-F, 40 hrs/wk during camp (dates are to be determined) plus pre and post camp administrative time.

Qualifications:
• Experience in planning multifaceted programs or events with leadership and collaborative supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of multiple disabilities, child development, community-based resources, educational and adaptive equipment and devices.
• Possess good observational skills coupled with the ability to define problems, collect and analyze data and patterns, and draw valid conclusions.
• Lift, move and carry minimum of 30 pounds.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse mix of professionals, students, parents and other constituents.
• Organizational skill with ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred: Ohio Department of Education Licensure, Intervention Specialist- K-12.

Job Duties:
• Facilitates the development and implementation of the instructional camp program. Responsible for communicating with instructors, counselors, and guest presenters to the program. Collaborates with program team.
• Works collaboratively with camp counselors, other staff, and community partners on schedules, events, and other camp activities.
• Oversees the daily schedule and makes changes as needed. Assists in assessing the overall program to identify any changes needed for optimum functioning.
• Coordinates and manages the selection of campers and assignments to groups. Coordinates volunteer activities.
• Knowledgeable of and adheres to all camp policies, rules and guidelines.
• Observes the peer culture to identify problems, make recommendations and assists with implementing solutions as necessary. Monitors and ensures appropriate student behavior and adherence to camp rules.
• Reports all incidents related to health, behavior, etc. immediately to Camp Advisor and nurse on duty.
• Maintains attendance counts at all camp activities and reports absences.
• Assists in the completion of all paperwork and the supervision of staff in the completion of their responsibilities. Facilitates small group meetings as needed.
• Handles emergency situations in conjunction with nurse, following ACBDD policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
