A Special Heartfelt Thank You to the Ohio Elks Association

The Ohio Elks Association, along with the Nelsonville Elks, recently donated $8,000 to Beacon School through their State Project Cerebral Palsy. The Association has generated donations of nearly $20,000 to Beacon School since 2003. The money has been used to purchase equipment and items to enhance and support the needs of our physically challenged children at Beacon School. In the past, we have purchased strollers and chairs, along with accessories to walkers and standers. In addition, last year the Elks donated an adaptive harness system to assist children in walking (similar to a treadmill). We plan to soon purchase an adapted outdoor swing. This equipment enables children to progress in their abilities and exercises, making improvements in their everyday lives. The ACBDD is very grateful for the support we have received from the Elks over the years. THANK YOU! AND a special thank you to Letha Connor, Instructor Assistant, for locally spearheading the project each year!!
